I often travel with my work, sitting it in the car beside me, setting it up at home to keep an eye on it and learn about what is working and what needs to happen next. Observer Observed came about as the result of a visceral session of laying paint down and making it run then reloading the brush and scumbling it through the running colors. When it was dry, I took it home and set it on the kitchen counter. Over the next 24 hours, 24 images appeared to be looking at me.
A believer that we create the world we expect to see, I had written in my journal that morning, "As we observe, so shall we be observed". I decided there was nothing more that needed to happen to this painting, it did as it saw fit. If you look in the very center there is a dark, vertical slash. It may be observed as a lady in a Victorian era hat, possibly carrying an umbrella, either observing or being observed by the rest of the characters in the painting.

When asked what I "do", I generally answer' "Yes". I have worked professionally in pencil, pen, paint than 40 years and in digital media almost as long. Change is important to me as it lays the ground for play and exploring which is a vital part of everything I do.
