Touched represents the composition of life as pure energy. As I blew the ribbons of white paint among the overlapping fields of translucent color on this canvas, it took on the qualities of an electrical storm while also reminding me of the touch exchanged between Adam and God in Michelangelo's fresco on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. Drip paintings are so much a process of allowing and responding. To look at one is to remember that.
When asked what I "do", I generally answer' "Yes". I have worked professionally in pencil, pen, paint than 40 years and in digital media almost as long. Change is important to me as it lays the ground for play and exploring which is a vital part of everything I do. An illustrator at heart, whether my work is an abstract, figurative, mural or a cartoon, I tend to tell stories with my art.
