A little different from my abstract work that seeks to reveal/explore a concept such as "consciousness", the drip paintings are more expressive of the sheer joy one feels when laying paint and interacting with it. Often times figures subtly emerge, other times I draw a figure through the drips alternating between the representational and expressionistic subjects connected and balanced by composition of color.
When asked what I "do", I generally answer' "Yes". I have worked professionally in pencil, pen, paint than 40 years and in digital media almost as long. Change is important to me as it lays the ground for play and exploring which is a vital part of everything I do. An illustrator at heart, whether my work is an abstract, figurative, mural or a cartoon, I tend to tell stories with my art. Sometimes the story is about what is shown, other times it is about the the media and how it is made.
