Max Rox is a series of digitally manipulated photo compositions. Max found his way into my life a few years ago and I am always taking pictures of him as he is always striking a pose, giving me a knowing glance, or excited about something. He is the coolest, happiest animal I have ever known and I am grateful he inspires me to laugh and play and has found his way into my work. I never know where he will show up next in my imagination.
When asked what I "do", I generally answer' "Yes". I have worked professionally in pencil, pen, paint than 40 years and in digital media almost as long. Change is important to me as it lays the ground for play and exploring which is a vital part of everything I do. An illustrator at heart, whether my work is an abstract, figurative, mural or a cartoon, I tend to tell stories with my art. Sometimes the story is about what is shown, other times it is about the the media and how it is made.
