I love to work with paper. It feels so natural. The depth in the swoops and swirls traced over sand or wire is embedded with texture highlighted by layers of paint rubbed into and scumbled over the surface. This "cut-out" was taken from a piece titled Music Man. The effects of it's concave areas on convex surfaces tickles the mind to explain what it sees. (see objects below the print section)
When asked what I "do", I generally answer' "Yes". I have worked professionally in pencil, pen, paint than 40 years and in digital media almost as long. Change is important to me as it lays the ground for play and exploring which is a vital part of everything I do. An illustrator at heart, whether my work is an abstract, figurative, mural or a cartoon, I tend to tell stories with my art. Sometimes the story is about what is shown, other times it is about the the media and how it is made.
